Belly dance is a Middle Eastern dance form that mainly highlights movements of the hips, torso, and abdominal area — unlike many Western dances, it focuses on isolating parts of the body with fluid rhythm and expressive motion. The name “belly dance” comes from the French phrase danse du ventre (dance of the belly).

This is a beginner-friendly belly dance workshop designed to introduce you to the basics of belly dance — including its origin, foundational movements, posture, arm positions, shimmies, and technique. It’s perfect if you’re new to the style and want a fun, hands-on introductory class!

What You’ll Learn

This session is great for absolute beginners, with no prior dance experience required.
