The Steve McCurry India Photo Workshop is a once-in-a-lifetime photography experience organized in partnership with Zoom Photo Tours. Scheduled for October 2026, the workshop takes participants through the visually rich cities of Kolkata and Varanasi, offering guided photographic journeys during the vibrant Durga Puja celebrations and along the iconic ghats of the Ganges. Notably, this marks Steve McCurry's first photography workshop in India in more than 25 years.
Participants receive hands-on guidance from Steve McCurry on documentary and travel photography, visual storytelling, composition, use of natural light, color, portraiture, and capturing authentic human moments. The program combines classroom discussions, image reviews, guided photo walks, and practical shooting sessions, allowing photographers to refine both their technical skills and artistic vision.
The workshop is suitable for passionate photographers looking to enhance their documentary and street photography skills while experiencing India's rich cultural heritage. It also provides opportunities to interact with fellow photographers, receive personalized feedback, and develop a deeper understanding of ethical and impactful visual storytelling
