Sameer Rahat: Tracing Malabar – An Evening of Urdu Poetry & Original Songs in Angamaly
Nisarga Art Hub brings an intimate evening of Urdu poetry and original songs to Angamaly, near Kochi, with Sameer Rahat: Tracing Malabar. Performed solo, up close, and unhurried.
For centuries, travellers, artists, and poets have come to the shores of Kerala. In recent years, many poems and melodies came to Sameer Rahat here, and he found a deep sense of belonging in this magical land. Now he traces that connection by sharing it with the people of Kerala, beyond language and everything else.
With a guitar, a handful of verses, and stories from around the world, he travels through multiple cities with songs of human nature, nostalgia, and longing in love. Between music, he talks with the audience, in rooms small enough to hear every breath between the lines. This is the Angamaly stop of the Tracing Malabar tour.
