Navdhara India Dance Theatre Virtual Intensive will take place from 11th September 2020.
A three-day program will allow aspiring dancers to experience first-hand, the life of an international dancer. Navdhara India Dance Theatre (NIDT) opens to the outside world the professional technique and craft they are known for internationally. Dancers from Navdhara have danced globally, on grand platforms, to a discerning audience, and understand the intricacies of the art like few others in India. The NIDT intensive will share this experience and information with dancers from India, illustrating how they too, started like everybody else.
The NIDT intensive hopes to enlighten dancers on premium contemporary dance which is popular abroad but little known in India. The three-day workshop will see Ashley and a crop of senior dancers trained under him for years engage with people outside of the company. Some finer details of these workshops include the prana paint technique, improvisation centered around the technique, which participants can learn and perform on the last day of the intensive in an online showcase. This will be followed by an open conversation about 'Contemporary Dance in India and World'.
