The Dhungri Mela will be held on May 14 through 16, 2021.
Dhungri Mela is a Hindu festival in Himachal Pradesh which is celebrated over three days during the birthday of Hadimba, wife of Bhima, one of the five Pandavas in the epic Mahabharata. Dhungri Mela 2021 will take place between May 14 and May 16.
During this festival, idols of gods and goddesses from surrounding villages are carried into Hadimba's ancient cave temple at the foot of the Himalayas. A fairground is set up with stalls and carnival rides, and there are performances of the Kullu Natti folk dance.
People wear the traditional colorful attire, local foods and local music are served on the occasion. It’s an excellent opportunity for people who want to learn about local culture, cuisine, music, art, craft and artifacts.
