Gangaur 2021 in India began on Monday, 29 March and ends on Thursday, 15 April.
Gangaur is one of the most popular summer festivals in India which is celebrated in various parts of Rajasthan, mostly in Jaipur. Gangaur is the colour festival of Rajasthan thus which attracts a huge number of tourists. The festival signifies the celebration of spring and harvest. Gana signifies Lord Shiva, and Gangaur symbolises Lord Shiva and Parvati together.
This festival is all about honouring Goddess Gauri or Parvati wife of Lord Shiva and makes clay models of Shiva and Parvati, married and unmarried women take part in the festival for the happy married life, takes day-long fast for marital happiness and prepares delicious dishes for the family. The locals of Rajasthan hopes that Goddess Parvati represents perfection and marital love, thus, the Gangaur festival has a lot of importance among them.
Gangaur 2021 lasts for 18 days, Rajasthani folk music, dance, puppet shows, sumptuous food stalls, and astounding fireworks are the highlights of this fest.
