Once upon a time, Bangalore was just a tiny city with an area of 2.24 square kilometers within the confines of a mud fort. It is here that kings once roamed, that battles were once fought, and it is here that the heart of Bangalore lies. Come discover this wonderful piece of land you call home, with me!
What's this tour about?
This group tour that is centered on Old Bangalore is a special place.
What happened to the fort?
Why was a battle fought here?
How did Bangalore come into existence?
We will aim to find answer to these and many more questions during the course of our walk while we discover some of the oldest parts of Bangalore. We would start our walk at Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace and explore some of the lesser known monuments around like the Bangalore Fort and the Victoria Hospital. We would also take a break in between our walk for some light South Indian snacks and end our walk at the KR Market. Post the walk, participants are welcome to join me on an extended walk to explore some of the other places of interest around the market area. While the agenda would be to explore Old Bangalore from a historical perspective, the discussion can also encompass a bit of photography and discuss how we can click a few good pictures as there are some interesting photographic opportunities along the way.
Why should you take this experience?
Bengaluru is not only about being pub city. There's a deep cultural and historical ethos that we will explore as a team on this walk.
